Located South of Oloron Sainte Marie and on the Chemin de St Jacques de Compostelle this lovely village is steeped in history and has been a place of pilgrimage since medieval times.
The village restaurant serves traditional meals and the butcher has many local specialities. All other amenities can be found in the nearby larger village just 10 minutes away.
This beautifully preserved valley offers wonderful walking and hiking trails and many sporting activities including canyoning, white water rafting and a hang gliding centre. For winter sports there are several ski stations both downhill and cross country within a 45 minute drive on the Spanish border.
The lively market town of Oloron Sainte Marie lies 25 minutes away at the head of the valley. Oloron is known for its many events throughout the year including the Jazz festival which attracts the musicians who go on to play in the international festival in Marciac. Here the railway station has trains down the valley to Bedous and a mainline connection to Pau and the national network.
